Blessed Bonaventure attracted attention from his early childhood by his modesty, innocence and love of prayer. At the age of fifteen, he entered the Conventual Friars Minor.
Although he had a fiery temperament, and by character was violent and given to anger, he came to acquire immense patience and unfailing gentleness, by dint of doing violence to himself and self-denial.
His humility and obedience were unequalled. He was a zealous servant of Mary, and never undertook anything without putting himself under her protection by reciting three Hail Mary’s.
He died in 1711, and was beatified by Pius VI.
